CanDo Users

The CanDo system allows for three types of users and password-protected logins: a system manager, teachers/instructors, and students. Setting up CanDo for the first time requires logging on as the manager; then, after initial setup, instructors can log on to set up classes for their students. The three types of users are described below.

MANAGER -- The SchoolTool/CanDo manager is the CanDo system supervisor. He or she sets up initial users, groups, courses and sections. The manager also establishes permissions and handles CanDo maintenance functions such as backing up CanDo data.

INSTRUCTORS -- Instructors create sections (Classes) of courses (Curriculum), create student logons, enter competencies, set the competency rating scale and grade students. Instructors also can type messages to their classes as journal entries, or to individual students as log entries.

STUDENTS -- Students log onto CanDo to access curriculum, check their competency scores, read the section journal and their individual log, as well as make log entries.
