CanDo Tutorial (Rough draft!)
---------------------------------------------
So, now, you have your CanDo instance. No doubt you're just jumping in your seat, raring to sink your teeth into this exciting new competency-tracking technology. I mean, seriously -- who doesn't love poorly documented, foreign, unfriendly software? You probably don't have a clue what to do now -- most people don't -- and that's what this tutorial's here to fix.
Before you can do anything with CanDo, you'll have to log in. There'll probably be a bunch of junk on your screen; links, buttons, and more, all vying for your attention. Click the 'Log In' button.

You'll be taken to, not surprisingly, a login screen. In the field labeled "Username", enter "manager" (Without the quotes). "Manager" is the administrator account for CanDo. Generally, you don't want to be doing much with the manager account, because as it holds basically god-like power over your instance of CanDo, mistakes are that much more deadly with it. As a regular account, a teacher's or student's, if you try to do something potentially dangerous, you'll get stopped, but with manager, there are no limits. That aside, you need to log in with it now.
In the "password" field, enter "schooltool" (Again without the quotes). "schooltool" is the default password for the CanDo manager account. Eventually, you'll want to change your password -- keeping it the default means that anyone who wanted could gain administrator priveleges over your instance of CanDo, which wouldn't be good.
Your login screen should look like this:
The blanked-out password is "schooltool".
Click the "Log in" button.
Now that you're logged in, with the limitless CanDo horizon stretching before you, it's time to get to work. The first thing to do is create a few accounts. So far the only one in existence is yours, "manager"; you'll need more.
At the top left portion of your screen, there's a small tab with "Navigation" printed on it. Move your mouse over it; a drop-down menu will appear. The first item in the list is called "Persons". Click it.
In the new screen that appears, you'll spot some information about your own account, "manager". It isn't very interesting, though. Roll your mouse over "Actions". Click "New Person"...
... and get taken to yet another screen! This one's busier than the last few, but nonetheless it should be easier to understand. The text fields are pretty self-explanatory. We'll keep things simple for now -- just create an account for yourself. Enter your real name, the username you'd like, and your password (Make sure your password's something decent, something hard to guess or crack; mix in both upper- and lower-case letters with numbers, and make it fairly long).
